小熊想要送給月亮一個生日禮物，可是月亮什麼時候生日？他想要什麼樣的禮物？小熊決定問問月亮，有沒有問到呢？

One night Bear looked up at the sky and thought, wouldn't it be nice to give the moon a birthday present.
一天晚上，小熊邊抬頭望著天空，心裡想，送一個生日禮物給月亮不是挺好的嘛！
But Bear didnt know when the moon's birthday was, or what to get him.
可是小熊不知道月亮的生日是哪天，也不知道該送什麼才好。
So he climbed a tall tree to have a little chat with the moon.
於是他爬上一棵高高的樹，去和月亮說話。
"Hello, Moon!" he shouted.
“你好，月亮！” 他大叫著。
But the moon did not reply.
月亮沒有回答。
Maybe I am too far away, thought Bear, and the moon cannot hear me.
小熊想，也許我離得太遠了，月亮聽不到。
So Bear paddled across the river...
於是他划船渡過小河。。。
and hiked through the forest...
走過森林。。。
into the mountains.
爬到高山上。
Now I am much closer to the moon,
現在我離月亮近多了，
thought Bear,
小熊心裡想
and again he shouted:"Hello!"
他又開始大叫：“嗨！”
This time his own voice echoed off one of the other mountains:"Hello!"
這次從另一個山頭傳來了回升：“嗨！”
Bear got very excited.
小熊高興極了。
Oh, boy! he thought.
他想：哇！太棒了！
I'm talking to the moon.
我在和月亮說話呢。
"Tell me," asked Bear,
“告訴我，”小熊問
"When is your birthday?"
你的生日是哪天？”
"Tell me, when is your birthday?" replied the moon.
“告訴我，你的生日是哪天？”月亮回答道。
“Well, it just so happens that my birthday is tomorrow!" said Bear.
“嗯，我的生日剛剛好，就是明天！” 小熊說。
"Well, it just so happens that my birthday is tomorrow!" said the moon.
“嗯，我的生日剛剛好，就是明天！”月亮說。
"What do you want for your birthday?" asked Bear.
“你想要什麼禮物？”小熊問。
"What do you want for your birthday?" asked the moon.
“你想要什麼禮物？”月亮問。
Bear thought for a moment,
小熊想了一會，
then he replied: "I would like a hat."
然後回答說：“我想要一頂帽子。”
"I would like a hat." said the moon.
“我想要一頂帽子。”月亮說。
Oh, goody! Thought Bear,
太好了！小熊想。
now I know what to get the moon for his birthday.
現在我知道該送什麼生日禮物給月亮了。
"Goodbye," said Bear.
“再見啦，”小熊說。
"Goodbye," said the moon.
“再見啦，”月亮說。
When Bear got home, he dumped all the money out of his piggy bank.
小熊回到家，就把小豬存錢罐裡的錢全部倒了出來。
Then he went downtown...
然後他上街去。。。
and bought the moon a beautiful hat.
為月亮買了一頂漂亮的帽子。
The night he put the hat up in a tree where the moon could find it.
那天晚上，他把帽子掛到樹上好讓月亮找到。
Then he waited and watched while the moon slowly crept up through the branches and tried on the hat.
然後他在樹下等著，看月亮慢慢穿過樹枝，爬到樹枝頭戴上帽子。
"Hurray!" yelled Bear.
“哇！“小熊高聲歡呼著。
"It fits just right!"
“戴起來剛剛好！”
During the night while Bear slept,
在小熊回去睡覺的時候，
the hat fell out of the tree.
帽子掉到了地上。
In the morning Bear found the hat on his doorstep.
第二天早上，小熊看見門前有一頂帽子。
"So the moon got me a hat, too" exclaimed Bear.
“原來月亮也送了我一頂帽子。”他說著就把帽子戴了起來。
He tried it on and it fit perfectly.
他帶起來也剛剛好。
But just then,
就在這個時候，
the wind blew Bear's hat off his head.
一陣風把帽子吹走了。
He chased after it...
他跟在後面跑著…
but it got away.
但是帽子卻飛走了。
That night Bear paddled across the river...
那天晚上小熊划船渡過小河。。。
and hiked through the forest...
穿過森林。。。
to talk with the moon.
去和月亮談話。
For a long time
the moon would not speak to him,
小熊等了好久也沒等到月亮先開口，
so Bear spoke first.
小熊只好先開口了。
"Hello!" he shouted.
“你好！”他大喊。
"Hello!" replied the moon.
“你好！”月亮回答。
"I lost the beautiful hat you gave me," said Bear.
“我把你送我的漂亮帽子弄丟了，”小熊說。
"I lost the beautiful hat you gave me," said the moon.
“我把你送我的漂亮帽子弄丟了，”月亮說。
"Thats okay, I still love you!" said Bear.
“沒關係，我還是一樣喜歡你！”小熊說。
"Thats okay, I still love you!" said the moon.
“沒關係，我還是一樣喜歡你！”月亮說。
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" said Bear.
“生日快樂！”小熊說。
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" said the moon.
“生日快樂！”月亮說。
